A parallel event to the Intersolar EES Exhibition and Conference, which deals traditionally with energy storage, has through the years attracted growing interest of both exhibitors and visitors, such as last year’s presentation of Tesla PowerWall and PowerPack. Industry experts will be sharing their experience with production, sales, installation and application of batteries and energy storage systems. Topics range from technology and innovations to domestic and commercial storage solutions, combination of decentralized storage units into swarms and the use of large-scale storage systems in energy supply, as well as the combination of renewable energy and electro mobility.
In 2015, the US energy storage market saw a record-setting number of installations, with an annual total of 221 megawatts. That figure represented a 243% increase over 2014’s installation total of 65 MW. Looking ahead to 2016, the market is expected to continue to grow. GTM research forecasts the annual US energy storage market to cross 1 GW in 2019 and reach 1.7 GW by 2020, when the market will be worth USD 2.5 billion.
